Special and Gourmet Cookbooks

Yes someone has made a cookbook for dogs. But not so funny when you think about all the problems with contaminated pet foods mentioned in the news lately. Like the little guy to the left, these folks have done exaustive work designing easy but safe food for our faithful pets. Here is an area that a pet lover and cook could build their own cookbook. But check out 101 Delicious Treats for your Dog to see a great cookbook in this style. 101 treats; 101 Dalmations. I get it!
BBQ
My favorite comedian Rita Rudner has this great joke: “Men love to barbeque. Which just goes to prove men will cook; if danger is involved?” Jokes aside, I also come from a long line of ‘BBQ’ers’ and love cooking and eating 'roasted animal flesh.' I even have a Grandfather BBQ sauce recipe in the story section of this site.
There are as many BBQ styles as there are cooks. Here is a perfect example of someone having a passion and creating his own cookbook. I first was caught by the title of Gef Smith’s book Super Secrets to Throw a Kickass BBQ. This is not a ‘party’ book, but a cookbook, science book, and health book all rolled into one. This book would make a great gift for the cook who enjoys the ‘danger.’ Gef had so much fun with the first book, he continued with another on sauces and rubs, and one on side dishes. If you have a passion; go create!
I wish I had this cookbook years ago when I was in the military. I was always being sent to training classes of a couple weeks duration where you stayed in a hotel or government BOQ rooms. You were paid a food allowance but to save money for one good meal a day, you had to eat PB&J sandwiches the other meals. How I wish I could have cooked in the room. Real Iron Chef is from another real Joe with a creative concept who acted on it and wrote a great and useful book. You can learn to cook a three course meal as if by magic right there in your motel room. If you want to see a unique concept book, or know a frequent business traveler, this is a fun book. Real Iron Chef.
While eating out at a restaurant, did you ever wonder what the recipe was for that delicious Fiesta Lime Chicken at Applebee’s? Or Boston Market’s to die for meatloaf? Well, copyrights don’t last forever and these folks have done a massive piece of work in collecting ‘America’s Most Wanted Recipes’ from famous restaurants. Applebee’s, Hard Rock Café, Boston Market, IHOP, Chili’s, Benihana’s, the Dairy Queen Blizzard, and even the Whopper from Burger king. Check out America's Most Wanted Recipes for a tasty fun.
